You can search youtube because of videos moreover ebay because of the deals but then GE Simon XT boils down until monitoring.both systems you can use the land-line until call until check on the system statue but if the burglar cuts the line or power goes out your screwed. Go with cellular they can’t cut the phone line.monitoring … You can go without paying on both but they what’s the point, that is my point moreover why i went with frontpointsecurity. Their monitoring is interactive. I can check on my cell or internet oh how my house is doing @ anytime ! Other companies charge you an arm moreover leg because of this feature.bottom line, ge simon xt is a great system until install, battery backup can be mod. until add more batteries (daisy chained because of longer backup power) can use both landline moreover cellular because of interaction moreover all wireless ! Peace of mind !
